Weekly update
Well now the the golf season is over (I think I have one more 2 day tourney in Kermit for the Volunteer Fire Department Sept 12 and 13th) so I can start to really concentrate on the meat of the training. I feel like I am getting some speed back but am still too scared to push it. We will see how it goes. Overall I feel pretty good. My older brother Tommy is coming down from Lubbock on Oct 3 to run the Crossroads Half Marathon as we are scheduled for training runs that day anyway of the 13 mile variety. I think his wife Allison is scheduled to walk it. She has a blog here that you can check out if you would like. Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed by that blog are not necessarily the the views and opinions expressed by runningtheboroughs.com and I can guarantee you that she would say the same about mine. I am proud of her for taking on this challenge and I hope she gets the same satisfaction we have so far. Good luck Allison!!
Brandi Hughes has also been running for awhile and I am officially starting to bug her to run the Crossroads Half starting now. Please send her harassing emails to do it here.
Here is a breakdown of the runs over the past week.
- 8/5 4 miles (in Carlsbad, NM)
- 8/6 4 miles
- 8/7 4 miles
- 8/8 8 miles (weekly long run….next Sat is 15 miles) Holy Crap!
- 8/9 4 miles

Lance! For real?? Numero uno….I don’t run. I have my own term…..wogging. I walk/jog. AND I haven’t done so in a week because I was in Cancun, now I feel like caca.
However…..it does sound interesting….I need to check into that. Maybe I could walk with your sister in law.
Can you guarantee I will lose 10 pounds?? If so, you can definitely count me in!! LOL
Word……..
1Thanks for the well wishes, I need to blog about the walking plan I’m doing and add your site as a link – with a very large disclaimer! Ha! I’m into my 5th week of training, finishing my long walk of 5 miles on Sunday! Tommy ran 16 last Saturday and 13 this Saturday. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to Odessa in October, I think!
